MAR’s strength
in numbers gives the organization great buying power. MAR has
negotiated a group dental insurance rate with Delta Dental of Maine.
The Delta Dental plan provides for high quality dental care for MAR
members who enroll, at reasonable rates. By keeping the cost of dental
coverage down and the quality of the services high, MAR members can
keep on smiling.
As a member of MAR you
and your spouse are eligible to sign up for dental insurance through an
arrangement that MAR has made with Delta Dental of Maine. More than 20%
of all MAR members take advantage of this special dental insurance
opportunity.
The Delta Dental benefit is just another example of how MAR members,
working together, are making retirement better for public employees in
Maine.
Any MAR member receiving
a monthly pension check from the Maine State Retirement System (MSRS)
that is sufficient to cover the premium of the dental program is
eligible for coverage under this plan. Spouses and dependent children
may be enrolled. Retirees becoming eligible after the initial
enrollment cutoff date must enroll when first eligible to apply for
coverage or wait until the next open enrollment period.

available to answer any questions that retirees have concerning Delta
Dental. She will send out Delta Dental application packets, and will
process any applications received for coverage.
