Membership in the Maine Association of Retirees (MAR) is entirely voluntary and you may terminate your membership by notifying MAR before the 10th of the month. You may fund your yearly dues of $15.00 by automatic monthly deduction or by check/money order (annual) as explained. Most members choose to pay their dues through payroll deduction. It is simple to put into place and they love the convenience of it.
Automatic Monthly Deduction By selecting this option you authorize the Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MPERS) to deduct $1.25 per month from your monthly pension allowance. You will be asked to contact MAR to provide your Social Security number or, if a beneficiary, your Social Security number and the Social Security number of the person who earned your pension allowance.
