Great News for State of
Maine
Retirees!
The Eastside
Wellness Center on the AMHI campus in Augusta and the Bangor Wellness Center on
the Dorothea Dix campus are now open to retired State of Maine employees and
their spouses who are covered by the State’s Anthem plan (their cards have the
Maine State Seal). Unfortunately, it is not open
to all public service retirees – such as teachers.
Both Centers have
cardiovascular equipment, weight rooms, and rooms for classes. Classes include
Pilates, cardio & tone, and the new senior classes. So get fit, stay fit,
and have fun!
They are open Monday
thru Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Fridays from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.,
and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
To take advantage of this benefit, show
your Anthem card, fill out a membership form, bring a doctor’s note, and take
the Health Risk Assessment (HRA). Now you can sign up for an hour’s orientation
during which you and your trainer will design a program just for
you.
This is a great, free, opportunity for
retirees. Please check out a Wellness Center soon and go often if you live in
the area, or if you live at a distance, visit whenever you happen to be in the
area.
