The 33rd Maine Geriatric’s Conference is being held at the Harborside Hotel, The Bar Harbor Club on Tuesday, May 19 - Wednesday, May 20th, 2026. This conference is chaired by the University of New England (UNE).  UNE has funding to pay the registration fee and offer an additional $40 for 6 MAR members to attend. They pay for lunch and breakfast each day.  There is, however, a cost to you for overnight stays and evening meals.

Individuals who are either students or retirees would act as “Geriatrics Education Mentors” (GEMs) in the audience.  The role of a GEM is to listen, participate in the sessions and any Fireside Chats offered and monitor the speaker who should be presenting their information in user friendly language. GEMs are encouraged to be active participants in the conference.

The conference provides healthcare practitioners, service providers, and others with interests in the field of aging to share ideas, ask questions, and develop or support strategies affecting older adults in all care settings. Addressing the disparities and to optimize aging.
